The Vipers
Once a relatively small pirate band headed by a Trandoshan and ex-mercenary for the CIS named Salir Karniss, the Vipers have become a major criminal empire under a Devaronian pirate named Jym Vorak, second only to the Kaos Coallition in planets controlled and the Wolves in intelligence services. The Viper military is composed mostly of smaller pirate groups, smugglers, mercenaries, spies, and local militias. However, Vorak does have several elite units and a considerably large command fleet. While their “capital” is Nubia, their real base of operations is the Viper's Nest, a large space station in the Outer Rim. The Vipers usually don't interfere with local affairs in the systems they influence and control. Many people and systems have actually benefited from their influence. Under Vorak, the Vipers' goal isn't necessarily to rule the galaxy, but to own it.
