Xiana Fett wasn't just born and raised Mandalorian, she was born and raised a Fett, a member of the most legendary clan of her people. She has been no stranger to war and a hard, spartan life. Despite this, she has an appreciation for peace and diplomacy that is uncharacteristic of her people and her family line.
Born during the height of the Empire, Fett was a member of a people and a way of life that had all but gone extinct. She was young but old enough to fight during the Mandalorian Revolution. Although she would end up as a commander of a wing of fighters in the Mandalorian navy, she earned the position through natural skill and not because of her last name.
After Niko Malzic declared himself emperor of the Mandalorians, Fett found she could no longer remain loyal to the “official” Mandalorian imperial government. Quickly becoming the face of the Mandalorian resistance to Malzic, she reached out to the enemy of her enemy, the ESS. Emperor Vince proved to be a willing ally, albeit one who wanted compensation for the Mandalorian attacks on his people.
Fett would see action in almost every major battle of the Mandalorian/ESS war, including the Battle of Mon Calamari and the First Battle of Mandalore. In the latter conflict, Malzic would be defeated singlehandedly by none other than Fett herself. This proved enough to solidify support enough around her to make her leader of the new coalition government and president of the Mandalorian Federation.
