Born with her twin Kieyone on the Galdon Ice Plains of Charron IV at the start of the Fourth War of One Hundred Years, Alaan came into a harsh and unforgiving world.
Initially raised as a warrior, Alaan started her training to enter the Rakshaw Special Forces at the young age of seven. Of those in her troop Alaan prooved to be the most gifted. She was training for desert combat when the first signs of her abilties started to show. She was in the middle of a close quarters combat simulation when she nearly turned her instructor into barbeque.
It was at this time that Alaan and her sister Kieyone were both taken to the Zhawn temple in the Crete Mountains of Charron IV where they first met Roscha. At first Alaan didn't get along very well with her mentor. She felt that Roscah was cold, overbearing, and cruel. But evntually over time Alaan came to see Roscha more of like another sister than a mentor.
Eventually Alaan had gained the title of Zhawn Ki Sai but by that time the war was over. Though she didn't see any actual combat Alaan witnessed the after effects, those who had nothing to do with the war and were bystanders were hurt the most. Seeing this caused Alaan to question her loyalties and her initial view of the war.
When Mako first arrived at the Temple she could feel the power that radiated off of him. At first she didn't take to the kid very well, but it took him covering for her and their shared views on warfare that gained her respect. Before long Alaan, Kieyone and Mako were getting into all sorts of trouble, and when the time came for Mako to leave, Alaan left the temple with him along with her sister and Roscha.
Along with Mako, Roscha, Kieyone, Wolf and Xandra, Alaan helped to create the Coalition, a group of ex-soldiers, refugees, and militia. The group would soon grow large enough in size to rival the other nations of the Charron system. Her then future husband J.D. would be among it's members.
